Research Manager
Job Description
The Research Manager position at Alter Agents requires a dynamic, talented person who enjoys client servicing, data analysis, and managing the mechanics of research projects. It’s an exciting role for someone looking to work collaboratively to help clients solve challenging business issues. The Research Manager will support and report to the Research Director. This role is responsible for executing client projects with the support of 1-2 Research Analysts, managing their day-to-day workflow. The Research Manager will also help turn data into unique insights-driven client deliverables with the guidance of the Associate Director.
Project management duties will include all aspects of a market research project and include both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The Research Manager will be developing client and personnel management skills, data analysis skills, analytical reporting and storytelling skills, as well as presentation techniques under the guidance of their Director.

- You fully understand the project management needs within the research process – from questionnaire development to analysis.
- You are able to coordinate with various vendors on questionnaire programming, sample procurement, field management, data processing, and report population.
- You are a self-starter and can work independently with guidance from senior staff.
- You enjoy working in a collaborative, team-first environment.
- You are skilled at multitasking and balancing multiple projects and priorities.
- You are inventive, resourceful, and willing to learn new techniques.
- You have a desire to continually challenge yourself and aspire to exceed client expectations.
- You can work in a fully remote environment with team members across multiple time zones.
Ideal candidate will have:
- At least 3 years of vendor-side market research experience using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
- Experience extracting compelling insights from large data sets and crafting story-driven client deliverables.
- Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite including: Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Experience delegating tasks and managing others is preferred, but not required.
- Experience navigating different data sets – from Excel tabs to SPSS to online data portals. Experience with DisplayR is a plus.
- Familiarity with multiple online survey environments and online reporting tools (such as Decipher, Qualtrics, Confirmit, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, with a dedication to maintaining the integrity of information.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including an ability to think creatively and “outside the box.”
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks across multiple projects with competing timelines.
- Experience presenting projects internally or to clients is a plus – but not required.

Salary Range:
$80,000 – $95,000 annual salary
